Ritual and Metamorphosis – a Reading of Madonna\'s Frozen

Abstract:

This essay aims to interpret it, the video-clip of the pop singer Madonna, by means of three research methods: iconology, semiotics and psychoanalytic. This hermeneutic approach is an attempt to extract the deep meanings of the esoteric ceremony initiated by the main female character in a musical video production.
